In this cultural project, different Nordic authors visit school children, youngsters in high schools, and all age groups at universities, libraries and other cultural institutions in the Baltic countries. The project aims to strengthen the cultural bond between the Nordic and Baltic countries by increasing awareness and interest in Nordic literature, culture and languages.

This way, the project provides unique meeting places for cultural experiences and for dialogue and debate for children, young people, and adults.

How it works

The project is centrally administered by The Confederation of Nordic Associations (FNF), whose aim is to promote Nordic culture and enhance Nordic values, such as democracy, inclusion, transparency and integration, culture and language understanding, and enhance mobility in the Nordic region.

Locally in the Baltic states, coordinators from respectively Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania provides the practical planning of the actual visits. The aim of Nordic Council of Ministers Offices in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is to enhance Nordic culture in the Baltic countries and increase Nordic-Baltic cooperation by providing diverse types of Nordic-Baltic activities in the Baltics.

The project is financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM), Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), and Nordplus.
